Outreach Philosophy

Why Are We So Passionate About Missions?
Volunteers are often questioned about why we work so hard to interface with other missions around the county, state, nationally, and internationally. Why go out of Fort White? The simple answer is twofold. One, the incorporation papers for FWCTS were set up to include mission work from the very beginning. The volunteers back eight years ago anticipated that FWCTS would at least be active in Lake City, Live Oak, High Springs, Alachua, and Gainesville. Blessings, donations, and opportunities soon verified this initial decision. Secondly, and most importantly, all the FWCTS volunteers that have ever worked here have never found in the Bible, in the book of Matthew 28:18-20, in the Great Commission a verse that says, "Go ye to the city limits of Fort White and stop." The very motto of FWCTS from the Book of James 2:15 &16 mandates all of the volunteers to "Get off the property of FWCTS" and be of service to all. We do not see the verses say help only a taxpaying registered voter property owning brothers or sisters of the Town of Fort White.

Therefore, for the past several years the FWCTS volunteers have been partners with scores of other 501c3 charitable organizations and other missions around the county, state, nationally, and internationally. FWCTS volunteers take home each day a sense of satisfaction in the knowledge that they have helped out a local family with food and clothing, and at the same time contributed to the aid of Katrina victims, and additionally the children freezing in the snows of the mountains of Pakistan through Doctors Without Borders. We are humbled to have the opportunity here at FWCTS to be strong in our faith and in our works. We pray that the Holy Spirit continues to guide us in both.
